Number Hopscotch

Here's a fun and active way to practice math skills right at home—Number Hopscotch! This activity combines physical movement with math, making it an engaging way for your child to practice counting, addition, and subtraction. By hopping from number to number, your child will not only get a little exercise but also strengthen their number sense and problem-solving abilities. It's a great way to make learning feel like a game, and you can easily adapt the activity to fit your child's current math skills. Let's get hopping!

Materials: Chalk
Instructions:
  • Use tape or chalk to create a hopscotch grid with numbers 1-10.
  • Call out a number (1-10) and have your child hop to that spot.
  • While the child is on that number ask them to add or subtract a number.
    • For example: The student is standing on number 4, you can ask your student to go two more spaces or to go back two spaces
  • Before your student moves, have them tell you the number they will hop to.
